Happy Valentine’s day!

Love is in the air! Love is in the water, in every sip of your tea and coffee…   I wish you a very Happy Valentine’s day! If you have a husband/wife/partner/boyfriend/girlfriend, I hope everyday is Valentine’s day to you both. Love is big and small. It’s everywhere, everything, a glass of water on your desk when you are busy working/studying, a hug or/and a kiss before you leave home to work, hold your hand before cross the street, fresh coffee when you wake up, bear hug when you feel down… I wish you a very Happy Valentine’s day! If you don’t have a partner/boyfriend/girlfriend/husband/wife yet, I hope you won’t give up on love. Before the Mr/Mrs Right shows up at your door, love yourself, make yourself happy, be responsible for your own happiness! We all love you. 🙂 With lots of love! Jen xx

Healthy Living Tips

Hello, lovely people. I hope you all are doing very well. Sorry that I couldn’t post on Monday. We were away for the day. It was a last-minute decision. I probably mentioned that life has been hectic lately, but I am not complaining. All good things are happening around me, family and friends. I am really grateful. I do get stressed out from time to time. I think it’s only normal. Anyway, let’s get on with it. I want to share some healthy living tips. Again, I am not an expert. Just my personal experience to share with you guys here. Hope you find the tips are tiny bit helpful. xx   Portion control. When I stress out, I intend to eat more than I really need which certainly leads to gaining weight. I try my best to keep that in mind to make sure I don’t eat more than necessary . Eat healthy fresh cooked food.  When you are busy, I know you feel you have no time to cook. It’s really not necessary true. …

Happy Mother’s day!

Mother’s day is just around the corner. I want to take the opportunity to wish all the mothers and mothers-to-be a very happy Mother’s day! Wish you enjoy a day full of love and happiness! xoxo I have had this idea to write a short post about my mom for a long time. This is probably the best timing to do it. She has been a great mom to me. She encourages, inspires and supports me in my whole life. I feel very blessed to have her as my mom and my best friend. Well, I am not gonna talk about how she has been a good mother to me. I want to tell you a short story about her retirement. 🙂 My mom is probably the most hard-working woman I have ever known (no exaggeration there!). She has dedicated all her time to our family and her job. At the age of 70, she finally convinced herself it was the time to retire. We had a little talk before she made the final decision. She was …

Strawberry Pie with love :)

Hubby brought back some strawberries from the local fruit shop yesterday. They are so lovely. I can never resist the pink cute pretty fruit. Then, Tuesday was the Chinese Valentine’s day (Qi Xi). I totally forgot about it. Although he wouldn’t know anything about the Chinese Valentine’s day, I  still think I should give him a pleasant surprise. The problem is that today is Saturday and we have a lot of plans as always. If I decide to do it, it has to be simple and quick, sweet too. Here comes the strawberry heart pie. Easy, simple, quick and lovely. It only takes about an hour to prepare and bake it (well, I have the store bought pastry).  It’s not very sweet, but with soft strawberry flavor. You can serve it very a scoop of ice cream or yogurt. INGREDIENTS strawberry – 500g Sugar – 40g Cornstarch – 25g 1 lemon zest 1 tablespoon lemon juice 1 teaspoon rosewater 3 sheets of pre-made puff pastry 1 egg, beaten icing sugar Heart shape cookie cut INSTRUCTIONS Preheat the …
