Gift Season

Wow, first day of December 2017. Christmas and New Year are just around the corner. I can’t believe this year is almost gone. Although I don’t believe Christmas is the only time to give gifts to our loved ones, it certainly is the right occasion. I know I am bit late for looking for gifts. Better late than never, eh? Once I started searching for gift ideas, I am overwhelmed with all the sales and promotion out there on the market. I haven’t really decided what to buy, but I have narrowed down some gifts I like to get for my families and probably myself. 😉 Skin care Peter Thomas Roth Mask-A-Holic looks like a good set. Five masks in one package. You get to try everything. I haven’t tried any of their masks. Quite tempted by this one. OMOROVICZA Miracle Facial Oil Set is very good value for money. Only the Miracle Facial oil’s retail price is £75. This set has three products for £80. Last one is Emma Hardie Amazing Face Life and Glow skin Essentials. I love …

I’m back

Greetings, lovely people! I hope you have had a wonderful weekend! My apologies! I know I haven’t updated my blog for over three weeks. I really missed my blog and you guys. I came back from the trip two weeks ago. There were so much to catch up at work. I was really snowed under with work. Plus, I had really bad jet lag. For the first week, I didn’t get much sleep at all. At some stage, I was so stressed out. Anyway, it’s all getting better now. No complaints! 🙂 I will start uploading photos and posts about the trip. It was one of the best trips I ever had. Please stay tuned. 🙂 For the beauty lovers, I didn’t buy a lot of beauty stuff on this trip. But I did get some Kiko products (Italian brand) and some Biotherm products (French brand). I will gradually post some reviews about these products. Just a sneak peek here. 😉 I want to take the opportunity to thank my followers. Thanks for staying with me. …

Healthy Living Tips

Hello, lovely people. I hope you all are doing very well. Sorry that I couldn’t post on Monday. We were away for the day. It was a last-minute decision. I probably mentioned that life has been hectic lately, but I am not complaining. All good things are happening around me, family and friends. I am really grateful. I do get stressed out from time to time. I think it’s only normal. Anyway, let’s get on with it. I want to share some healthy living tips. Again, I am not an expert. Just my personal experience to share with you guys here. Hope you find the tips are tiny bit helpful. xx   Portion control. When I stress out, I intend to eat more than I really need which certainly leads to gaining weight. I try my best to keep that in mind to make sure I don’t eat more than necessary . Eat healthy fresh cooked food.  When you are busy, I know you feel you have no time to cook. It’s really not necessary true. …

Mini post – Short travel story

Last week, we had some friends over for dinner. It was a fun night. We had a good laugh about our travel experiences, little incidents, helps from strangers, strange food, and certainly some bad experiences as well. It made me realise that’s one of the fun parts for travelling. So I thought I probably can try to make some mini posts about short travel stories, encounters, maybe just things happened on the trips. I used to like travelling solo before I met my husband. I loved the feeling that I could just pack my bag, get a ticket and go. Don’t get me wrong, I love travelling with friends or families. However, organising a trip is not as easy as it sounds, especially when everyone has a busy life. Pairs, 2009 It was a cold morning in the winter. I was walking down the Champs-Élysées Avenue. It was drizzling. All of a sudden, I found an umbrella above my head. I was taken by surprise. I turned my head and saw a middle-age man holding an umbrella over …

Digital break

Over the weekend, I realised I need new glasses. I became a little bit shortsighted after I finished two years online course years ago. However, it has become worse since then. I have noticed I spend a lot of time on devices with screen every single day. I rely on them to organise my life, alarm and reminder on my phone, reading and writing notes on my iPad, writing and editing photos on my laptop. Don’t get me wrong. I am not anti-anything here. Technology is great. Life has become so convenient because of it. We can do an entire university degree without leaving the house. We can board a domestic flight by using our phones only. We can access news and information so quickly and easily through our phone and tablet. We can do so many things with these devices that we couldn’t before, tracking our steps, having a digital diary, online shopping, watching videos, drawing, and so many other things. However, my eyesight has become worse over the years. Spending so much time on looking at different screens …

Grow Succulents

A friend of mine introduced me to her succulents last year. I immediately fell in love. They are so cute and pretty. The most encouraging thing is that they are not too hard to take care of. You don’t need to invest a lot of time and patience to grow succulents. They are really low maintenance.  I guess I found my type of plant finally. My succulent collection has been growing. I am not saying I didn’t kill any succulents. As a matter of fact, I did. Sadly, quite a few at the very beginning. Then, I learned few things about them. Not all of them like a lot of sun like I thought. Sufficient but indirect sunlight probably is the best. They like to grow in well-drained soil, but good in the pots without drainage holes as well. I learned how to water them. I generally water my succulents every 3-4 days in summer and less in the cold season. For the ones in the pots without any drainage holes, I water them with much …
