Best of January | Favourites

Hey everyone, I hope you are having a wonderful week! I can’t believe January is officially over. It’s a little bit crazy, I think. We have been so busy celebrating New Year and then Chinese New Year. Normally, there is a gap between the two. However, Chinese New Year was in Jan this year. We actually are still celebrating it, a lot of cooking and a lot of yummy food. January was a really hot month here in Brisbane. We spent a lot of time on the beach. Most of the days I didn’t really wear full face makeup. Just cc cream with some concealer, a little bit of blush and lip gloss to brighten my face. I was all about the natural, no makeup makeup look. Not a book review

Happy Friday! 🙂 Finally, I finished the book, The Agony and The Ecstasy, written by Irving Stone. It’s a book of Michelangelo’s life story. It is a bit old since it was first published in 1958. However, a good book never gets old. This book took me the longest period to read, almost a month. Part of the reason was that I have been very busy for the past few weeks. I only had a little bit of time to read before bed time. Other than that, I found myself stopping in the middle of the reading very often, just chewing on the words, imagining the scene, and digesting the emotion. If you are interested in Michelangelo’s art and the story behind it, it is a book for you. I wish I had read it before we visited Florence and Rome. I have learned a lot from the book, the story behind his famous David, the way he learned the anatomy, his involvement in politics and popes, and so much more. Michelangelo is not just an artist. He …
