Last Minute Gift Ideas

Hey lovely people, I hope you are all well. It has been a long time. My apologies for my absence. It has proven again that it has been the busiest year I have ever had since I started this blog. Hopefully, everything will go back to normal next year. I will get to share things here with you regularly.  Christmas is only eight days away. Can you believe it?! Where did the time go? Just in the blink of an eye. I hope you are all ready for your Christmas and New Year holiday. 🙂 For this year I knew I wouldn’t have a lot of time to go shopping for gifts. So I made a gift list and did online purchase. Still, last week I realised that I forgot to prepare a couple of gifts. So here you go, my last minute gift ideas.  Adopting a Dolphin. 🙂 Well. I didn’t mean that you need to adopt a real dolphin and bring it home. Only symbolically. Do you know you can go to Dolphin Research …

About Health and Fitness

Hey lovelies, I hope you have had a fantastic week so far. Don’t know if you remember, I took a long break from blogging because I was not feeling well. It was nothing serious, but I didn’t feel I had the energy to keep up with everything. My energy level was very low. The first thing I did was to rebuild my exercise routine. It has been more than half a year. I can see the difference, and I certainly have more energy. It helps me to rewind and de-stress. I am not an expert or professional re this topic. I just want to share some of my personal experience here with you. Find the exercise you enjoy I signed up a membership with a local fitness studio. It’s not a gym. I get bored easily with exercises, for example, jogging or cycling. I knew I would give up very quickly if I were not interested. My knees also don’t like me doing these kinds of exercise. The studio offers a good variety of classes, …

Travel Plan

Can you believe it’s almost the end of September. We have had such a busy year, and we really haven’t had much time to travel. Don’t know about next year. I guess we will have to worry about it when it comes. We are going to China at the end of the year. It will be a very short holiday, but exciting! Since we won’t have a lot of time, the plan is focusing on two cities, Beijing and Shanghai. I have been to Beijing many times when I was much younger. However, I haven’t visited the city for probably more than 10 years. I kinda miss it a lot lately. It’s time to see the ancient city again. Great Wall No one will travel to Beijing without seeing the Great Wall, one of the Wonders of the World. It was built from Qin Dynasty to Ming Dynasty to defend the cities from invaders. The view is always spectacular. Because it will be winter in China, I think we will give up on the idea …

Biotherm Blue Therapy Accelerate Serum | Review

I don’t think I have posted a review for the Biotherm Blue Therapy Accelerate serum. I have almost finished the entire bottle. Guess it’s time to talk about it. Somehow I always like this brand. Unfortunately, it’s not so easy to purchase their products in Australia, at least in Brisbane. This is an anti-ageing repairing serum. It claims that it will help to reduce winkles, improve firmness and restore the youth of your skin. Well, I don’t believe any products can really restore the youth of my skin. However, I am obsessed with clear and luminous skin which gives your skin a youthful look. That’s all I am asking for from an anti-ageing serum. What they say about this product: “Rejuvenating serum to reduce visible signs of aging: fine lines – smoothing – firmness…oil-in-water dispersion system. Concentrated in extract of “Algae of Youth”, which delivers powerful hydrating capabilities that counter signs of aging, day after day. Fine lines appear smoothed, complexion is radiant, and facial skin contours feel tighter for a visible transformation.” Sounds pretty …

Snow Skin Mooncake

Just like its name. This mooncake looks like it has snow skin. It’s a non-baked mooncake with soft, chewy pastry and custard filling. The Mid-Autumn Festival is less than two weeks away. I certainly cannot celebrate it without some delicious mooncakes. I always like the Snow Skin Mooncake. I am not sure about its origin, most likely Hong Kong or Singapore. Compare to the traditional mooncakes, it’s rather light. It needs to be kept in the fridge and served cold. It also tastes best when chilled in the fridge. If you like, you can make it colourful by adding some matcha powder or beetroot powder. In this recipe, I used the custard filling. You can use red bean paste or lotus paste. Some extra nuts or seeds would be nice too. You can keep them in an air-tight container up to five days. I really enjoy this mooncake. I hope you will like it. 🙂 Makes 20 mooncakes (50g) INGREDIENTS: Pastry: Glutinous rice flour – 75g Rice Flour – 75g Wheat Starch – 50g Icing Sugar …

Ryan Storer

Lately I have been loving gold jewellery with beautiful unconventional design. One of the Australian jewellery designers I really love is Ryan Storer. His design is modern,  intricate, and fearless. I think he made his name for his boldly designed ear cuffs. Everything was sold out in a short time. Every ear cuff is a statement piece. No doubt they have become so popular. I simply just fell in love with his clean and perfect artistic design. Also I love the way he use different material. He use Swarovski Crystal, pearl, gold, silver, brass and so on. My favourites are the natural shell earrings and cuff.  So beautiful!   All the photos are from ryanstorer.bigcartel.com

Dr. Jackson’s 02 Night Cream|Review

One of my friends raved about this night cream. I am always curious about a good night cream for dry skin, and I love Dr. Jackson’s 07 Face Wash. It has been my morning cleanser for a while. Its citrus scent smells refreshing and divine. It certainly wakes me up every morning. From what I learned, all their products are vegan and free from parabens, sulphates, artificial fragrances and synthetic ingredients. Plus, I really have a good feeling about this brand. Maybe it’s because of its packaging. They are all rather unpretentious. If it’s a trick, it certainly works on me. 😉 What they say about this product: “Rich, repairing nighttime formula. It is perfect for nighttime use, has long-lasting hydrating effects (clinical trials have proved that just one application works its moisturising magic on the skin for up to eight hours!). It is packed full of natural ingredients that work in harmony to nourish and soften the skin . Make this replenishing formula part of your bedtime rituals to enrich the skin and create an …

Declutter Friendship

Declutter friendship?! Hmmm…sounds harsh? We talk about declutter stuff a lot, like our desk, our wardrobe, and our mind. However, have you thought that we might have to declutter friendship from time to time. It all started from a conversation I had with a couple of friends few weeks back and an article I read a while ago about mental health. If hanging on to useless stuff is not healthy, how different is hanging on to toxic friendship. Quite often I hear friends talk about some of their friends who like to argue constantly, who like to win at the end no matter at what cost, who is super negative about everything and never change, who is selfish and only contact you when they need your help or borrow money. If that’s case, maybe it’s time to have a close look at the friendship and downsize friends. Set boundary. Friends should support each other. I totally agree. However, it doesn’t mean you have to answer the call in the middle of the night. You don’t have …

Vanuatu

When you are based in Australia or New Zealand, a short trip to one of the Pacific islands seems like a no-brainer. I constantly hear friends or colleagues organising trips to Fiji, Bora Bora, Rarotonga, New Caledonia and so on. We have been to Rarotonga few years ago, and we loved it. It was simple and relaxing. When we wanted to have a getaway trip this year, we decided to give Vanuatu a go. Vanuatu is officially called the Republic of Vanuatu, inhabited originally by Melanesian people who are one of few groups of non-Caucasian with blond hair. The French had very strong influence back in 1768 on the island. We still could find nice French wine there during our trip, which was a nice surprise. Among all the islands, we decided to stay in Efate. It’s the main island of Vanuatu. We booked a villa facing the beach. A tropical island holiday is completely different from a trip to Europe. There is not much to see in terms of history and culture compare to …

Little Things I Have Been Loving

Hey lovelies, it has been a long time since I did a favourite post. I have some beauty products, a new favourite fragrance, and some other bits and bobs. I love sharing favourite things with my friends.  It’s just so exciting! 🙂 Replica Beach Walk EDT Maison Margiela I can’t tell you enough how much I love this one. It has become my every day scent since I bought it. It’s light, refreshing, and warm. It’s the smell of summer breeze and feeling of the afternoon sun on your skin. The coconut scent takes me to the golden sand beach every time when I wear it. I guess that’s why it’s called “Beach Walk“. It makes me feel cosy and relaxed. Buxom Cosmetic Big & Sexy Bold Gel Lipstick – Burning Desire I came across this lipstick about a month ago. As it’s still winter here in Australia, I always love a bold red lippy in the cold season. It’s really long-lasting and lightweight. The lipstick is super pigmented. I love the satin finish. I …
