Zelens Z Luminous Brightening Serum | Review

Hey lovelies, how’s the week so far?

My day started from going to our local shopping mall in very early hours to get few things. Although I was trying to avoid the crowd, unfortunately it was very unsuccessful at all. It took me ages to get in and out. I think it will be my last trip to the mall for this year. If I really must get something, I think I will just go online. Thanks for the internet, so convenient.

Anyway, I have a review for you today. If you follow me for a while, you probably know I love Zelens Absolute Face oil. It has been a staple of my skin care routine. I haven’t found anything works better than that. Because of my love to the oil, I decided to try out the Zelens Z luminous Brightening serum. I wanted to see if it works on my skin. I bought the serum after I came back from our trip. I have been using it for about a month now. I can see some results. So time for a review!

What they say about the product:

Based on a proprietary blend of powerful ingredients, this advanced serum visibly brightens, smoothes and hydrates the skin. Helps diminish the appearance of dark spots and discolouration, evens skin tone and enhances radiance, while refining skin texture. Leaves skin brighter, clearer, softer and younger-looking. It reduces the appearance of dark spots and discolourations, evens skin tone, brightens and enhance luminosity, and refines skin texture for radiant and younger-looking complexion

Key ingredients (from Zelens website):

Resorcinol: Decreases melanin content of the skin and provides excellent brightening-lightening effect. Reduces the appearance of dark spots and evens the skin tone.

Zinc-Glycine Complex: Demonstrates strong brightening-whitening properties. Significantly reduces melanocyte proliferation and melanin production. Zinc demonstrates anti-inflammatory properties.

Phytic Acid: A naturally-derived acid sourced from rice. Possesses mild exfoliating properties and promotes skin renewal process.

Hyaluronic acid: An important natural component of skin. Zelens uses a low-molecular weight hyaluronic acid (HA) with unique moisturising properties. HA improves skin moisture, helps to retain and maintain skin elasticity and reduces the appearance of wrinkles.

Vitamin E: An antioxidant with a key role in the protection of cellular membranes from free radicals. It is the major antioxidant in the human epidermis with strong protective effects against UV-induced skin damage.

Bisabolol: An active molecule extracted from Camomile. Possesses strong antioxidant, anti-irritant, anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties.

Silanols: Organic silicium-based compounds. Help to reconstruct skin architecture by stimulating collagen production and enhancing cellular communication between keratinocytes and fibroblasts.

Squalane: Derived from olives, this active ingredient demonstrates strong antioxidant properties, helps fortify the skin barrier and improve skin hydration.

Silica: A trace mineral that helps strengthen skin connective tissues resulting in increased skin elasticity. Absorbs sweat and oil and prevents light reflection.

Pearl: Containing 16 essential amino-acids, proteins and polysaccharides, this hydrolised pearl powder helps maintain high moisture level while promoting skin smoothness and radiance. Pearl has excellent brightening properties.

My experience:

  • Usage: After I wash my face, I use one pump in the morning and at night.
  • Scent: Light scent.
  • Texture: Lightweight, not too thick, not too watery either.
  • Packaging: Comes in a slim glass bottle with a pump. Pretty, but to be honest, I don’t really care much.
  • Price: 30ml – £ 135.00. Absolutely pricey!

The Verdict:

Lately, I have received quite a few compliments about my skin. I also noticed that I have used very little makeup. Just some concealer for under eye area and light coverage foundation.

After using it for a week, it gave my skin a healthy glow. At the beginning, I used it with Clinique Pure Vitamin C Powder cleanser. After I finished with the cleanser, I have been using this alone. The brown patches on my cheeks are very light now. I am very pleased with the result.

It also stays put under my makeup. Just one thing I would like to mention is that it gives a little tingling sensation right after I apply it, just a second or so.

There are two more things I like about this brand. You can find a full ingredient list on their website. It even explains the benefits of ingredients. Not like many other brands, it can be super difficult to find an ingredient list. There is also clinical proof to back up their products.

All right. I admit I am a big fan now! 🙂

Hope you like the review. Talk soon.
